Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios settle Animal profit sharing dispute out of court: Reports

Amid the feud between Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios related to profit sharing of Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal, now, it is reported that the studios have settled out of court. For unversed, Cine1 was upset with T-Series for not following their agreement regarding the movie Animal. T-Series argued that Cine1 had already given up their rights in a 2022 agreement. The case was taken to court which may have affected the film's release on a digital platform, Netflix India.

As reported by Bar N Bench on Monday, January 22, the lawyers representing both studios informed the Delhi High Court that “they have reached an agreement to resolve their issues. This means a settlement has been officially signed and will be presented to the court for approval.” With the settlement in place, the hurdles for Animal arriving on OTT have been removed.

On Monday, Justice Sanjeev Narula acknowledged the agreement between the studios and instructed both parties “to officially document the agreement. The court will review and address the matter on January 24, with the expectation of bringing it to a conclusion at that time.”

As per an earlier report in ANI, Cine1 accused T-Series of breaking their contract, claiming that the latter did not consult them for promotions like teasers, credits, marketing, and disclosing final costs. The studio also alleged that T-Series didn't share details about agreements with Netflix India and Sony Pictures Networks India.

T-Series, represented by Senior Advocate Amit Sibal, responded, claiming that in an August 2022 amendment agreement, Cine1 gave up all rights to the movie for Rs 2.6 crores.

The court, led by Justice Sanjeev Narula, accepted the case and summoned both parties. They were asked to submit written statements and affidavits, after which, the case was set to proceed with evidence marking on March 15 with additional arguments scheduled for January 22. Akshay Kumar – Tiger Shroff skip Ram Mandir consecration amid Jordan schedule of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan; send video message: “Ram Lalla will be in his beautiful home in Ayodhya”

Earlier in the morning on January 22, Bollywood celebrities began to leave for Ayodhya on January 22 to attend the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla. Several biggies were seen at Mumbai's private airport in the wee hours. While many have been invited to the ceremony, actors Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff won’t be able to the grand event in Ayodhya due to the Jordan schedule of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

On Monday morning, Akshay Kumar dropped a video along with Tiger Shroff from Jordan's schedule. He captioned the video, “Many best wishes to all of you on the auspicious day of Shri Ram's Pran Pratishtha. Jai Shri Ram.”

In the video, he said, “Namaskar! Main hoon Akshay Kumar aur mere saath hai mere mitra Tiger Shroff. Aur hum dono ki taraf se aap sabko ‘Jai Shri Ram.’ Aaj ka din puri duniya mein base Ram bhakton ke liye bahut bahut bahut bada din hai. Kayi sau saalon ki pratiksha ke baad yeh din aaya hai ki Ram Lalla apne ghar Ayodhya mein apne bhavya mandir mein aa rahe hain (From me and my friend Tiger Shroff's side – Hail Shri Ram. Today is a big day for devotees of Lord Ram. After the wait of hundreds of years, the day has come, when Ram Lalla will be in his beautiful home in Ayodhya).”

Tiger Shroff said in Hindi, "Hum sabne bachpan se itna kuch suna hai par iss din ko hote huyi dekh pana aur jee pana, bahut badi baat hai. Hum wait kar rahe hai uss ghadi ki jab hum deep jala ke Shri Ram ka utsav manayenge (We have heard so much about this (Ayodhya Ram Mandir consecration) since our childhood. But to see this day come true is a very big deal. And we are waiting for the moment we can all light diyas (lamps) and celebrate the festival of Lord Ram).”

Akshay concluded, “From both our sides, we would like to wish you all on this auspicious day. Jai Shri Ram.”

The consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya will be happening today January 22 with Prime Minister Narendra Modi participating in the Pran Pratishtha ceremony. As per a report in The Hindu, an array of selected 506 influential figures, spanning politicians, industrialists, film stars, and more have received invitations. Following the ceremony, PM Modi will address the attendees.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff are in Jordan for three song sequences shoot. The film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, adding another layer of intensity to this rollercoaster ride of emotions. Vashu Bhagnani and Pooja Entertainment present Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in association with AAZ films. Hrithik Roshan-led Fighter to have teasers of Akshay Kumar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Ajay Devgn starrer Shaitaan attached on big screen

With only three days left before the release of the aerial actioner Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor, the excitement amongst fans for Siddharth Anand’s directorial is at an all-time high. The film is set to kick off Republic Day weekend on January 25. Amidst much anticipation, two big releases of the year, Akshay Kumar – Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Ajay Devgn starrer Shaitaan will have their teasers attached to Fighter in theatres.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, a source close to the producers of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan revealed, “While the teaser is not hard attached to the prints of Fighter, the producers of BMCM – Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani - have struck a deal with the national chains as also some of the single screen associations to screen the teaser before the film or in the interval.” All the PVR-INOX screens will screen 1 minute 41-second teaser across India.

Talking about Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan, the source further said that the upcoming film is “a supernatural thriller and the makers want to reach out to a wide section of the audience with their first teaser. It’s a tight spooky cut and has some shock element too. While digital launch will take place soon, the theatrical experience for Shaitaan teaser begins from January 25.”

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, adding another layer of intensity to this rollercoaster ride of emotions. HanuMan makers to donate Rs. 2.66 crores to Ayodhya Ram Mandir

HanuMan has been creating quite a buzz ever since its release. Touted to be one of the biggest movies of Telugu actor Teja Sajja, the film released in India in multiple languages. The film inspired by Hindu mythology and tales of Lord Hanuman, has garnered love from audiences and the makers are planning to return some of it back by making a large donation to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.

Readers would be aware that the inauguration of Ram Mandir in the spiritual land of Ayodhya will be done by honorable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on January 22. The event, which will be attended by several known stars and names, has already received nationwide and worldwide recognition. Considering that the film is inspired by a portion of the Ramayana, the makers of the recently released HanuMan have asserted that they would be donating a huge sum of Rs. 2.66 crores which they have earned from selling over 50,000 tickets for the film as a way of returning to society. The makers announced about it on X, formerly known as Twitter, on January 21. Speaking of the film HanuMan, directed by Prasanth Varma, the film stars Teja Sajja in the lead along with Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Raj Deepak Shetty and Vinay Rai in key roles. With Dasaradhi Sivendra as the cinematographer and Sai Babu Talari as the editor, the music is composed by Anudeep Dev, GowraHari, and Krishna Saurabh. Produced under the banner of Primeshow Entertainment, the film released on January 12 in Telugu along with dubbed versions of Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.

BREAKING: CBFC censors ‘sexually suggested visuals’ in Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter

The first big release of the year, Fighter, is all set to release this week and the excitement is tremendous. The advance booking opened on Friday night and the ticket sales till now have been encouraging. Meanwhile, the censor process of the Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone starrer was completed on time before release. Bollywood Hungama, in this exclusive article, brings to you the list of cuts faced by this aerial action thriller.

As per the cut list, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) asked for four modifications in the film. Firstly, the anti-smoking static message was asked to be mentioned in Hindi. Secondly, an abusive word was muted or replaced in two dialogues, one at 53 minutes and the other at 1 hour and 18 minutes. Thirdly, ‘sexually suggested visuals’ were removed. These 8 seconds of visuals were probably replaced by ‘suitable shots’. Lastly, 25 seconds of the audio in a TV news visual scene was removed and replaced with 23 seconds of audio.

After these changes were carried out, a U/A certificate was granted to the makers of Fighter on Friday, January 19. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 166 minutes. In other words, the run time of Fighter is 2 hours and 46 minutes. Fighter releases in cinemas worldwide on January 25.

Interestingly, this is the second consecutive film of actor Deepika Padukone and director Siddharth Anand which faced cuts from the CBFC over hot scenes. Their last film together, Pathaan, was passed by the CBFC only after the close-up shot of buttocks, 'side pose (partial nudity)' shots and visuals of sensuous dance movements during the lyrics 'Bahut tang kiya' in the song ‘Besharam Rang’ were removed or curtailed and replaced with 'suitable shots'. Even then, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the story and it was one of the biggest viral news of the year 2023.

Rashmika Mandanna expresses gratitude towards Delhi Police after they arrest the deepfake case accused

In November 2023, Rashmika Mandanna, who was one of the first victims of deepfake video, had taken to social media to express her shock and requested the authorities to take proper action against such cyber-crimes. The police officials, who were investigating the matter, after an FIR was lodged against the perpetuator under multiple charges of forgery, identity theft, etc., they finally made an arrest on January 20.

Just a day ago, we had reported that the Delhi Police had arrested the accused man from Andhra Pradesh. Owing to the same, Rashmika Mandanna took to social media to express her gratitude towards the officials in a heartfelt note. She posted it on her Instagram story and it read, “Expressing my heartfelt gratitude to @delhi.police_official (folded hands emoji) Thank you for apprehending those responsible. Feeling truly grateful for the community that embraces me with love, support, and shields me (indian flag).”

Readers would be aware that the actress’ response on social media had sparked a debate about stringent actions being taken against cyber-crimes. In fact, many of her co-actors and industry friends had come in support of Mandanna and had asserted the need to impose better guidelines in such cases. In her post, the Animal actress also urged other people to take action if they are a victim of such cyber-crimes as she added, “Girls and boys - if your image is used or morphed anywhere without your consent. It is wrong! And I hope this is a reminder that you are surrounded by people who will support you and action will be taken! (white heart emoji)”.

For the unversed, about two months ago, a video featuring Rashmika Mandanna entering a lift in a black low-cut top was doing the rounds on social media wherein it was later revealed that the video belonged to an Indian-British influencer Zara Patel.

The source further added that Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is an action entertainer like never before. "This is the most ambitious film to date for Ali, Pooja Entertainment, Akshay, and Tiger. No one is compromising on the vision and the best of the technicians have come on board the film - be it VFX or the action team. Eid 2024 will be a blast," the source told us further.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan also stars Manushi, Alaya F, and Sonakshi Sinha in key roles. The South Superstar, Prithviraj Sukumaran is playing the part of the antagonist in this actioner.

Fighter receives UA certification: CBFC reveals runtime for Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer

The highly anticipated action film, Fighter, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, has created quite a buzz since its announcement. With the recent release of the film's trailer, fans have been treated to a glimpse of the chemistry between Hrithik and Deepika. The runtime of the film is now revealed.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted Fighter a UA certification and revealed that the film will have a runtime of 2 hours and 46 minutes. This certification provided insights into the film's plot, which centres around the escalating militant activities along the Line of Control. In response to this, Air Headquarters established a special unit named Air Dragons at the Air Force base in Srinagar. Comprising Sukhoi 30 fighter jets and ALH Helicopter, Air Dragons is an elite unit featuring the best combat aviators from the Indian Air Force.

Starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles, Fighter promises to be an intense and action-packed cinematic experience. Notably, Anil Kapoor also plays a pivotal role in the film. SCOOP: Kartik Aaryan and Siddhant Chaturvedi approached for a cameo in Suriya-Bobby Deol starrer Kanguva

As per the buzz in the market, the makers of Kanguva have approached Kartik Aaryan and Siddhant Chaturvedi. The second look poster was unveiled a few days ago and was well received. With music by none other than Devi Sri Prasad, Kanguva will be released in 10 languages in 3D format.

EXCLUSIVE: Alaya F ‘grateful’ to be a part of Srikanth Bolla biopic Sri: “His life story is so inspiring and incredible”

Actress Alaya F has come a long since her debut in Jawaani Jaaneman. Starring alongside industry-celebrated stars Tabu and Saif Ali Khan, the young actress will soon celebrate her fourth anniversary in the film industry on January 31, 2020. She has two releases in 2024 and one of them is Sri starring alongside Rajkummar Rao and Jyothika. It is a biopic on the life of Indian visionary Srikanth Bolla in Sri, directed by Tushar Hiranandani.

Speaking about her upcoming film, Alaya F says that she is honoured to be a part of such an important story. She admits that Rajkummar Rao has to do all the heavy lifting in the movie but she is simply happy to be a part of a project like this biopic. Talking to Bollywood Hungama, Alaya F says, “Honestly, Raj has the heavy lifting of complexities. For me, I just love the story. I thought it was really sweet and inspirational story and I just wanted to be a part of it in whatever little way I could. Raj is doing all the heavy lifting in this film, I'm happy just to be a part of a really wonderful project.”

She adds, “When I read the script of this film, I remember thinking to myself that ‘If I did not know that this was a real-life story, I would have been like ‘Just because it's a film and you can conveniently do anything. So all of this is possible.’ But then when you realize it's a real-life story, it becomes so incredible, because you can't even make up stuff like that. It's just incredible what this man has done. His life story is so inspiring and so incredible. Just being able to be a part of a story like that is wonderful. It's a genre that I love. I love biopics; I love inspirational stories. I'm just grateful to be a part of it.”

Written by Jagdeep Sidhu and Sumit Purohit, and pictured by Pratham Mehta, Sri portrays the life of Srikanth Bolla, an industrialist who fearlessly pursued his dreams despite his visual impairment, ultimately founding Bollant Industries. Siddharth Anand indirectly responds to Pakistani actress Hania Aamir after she criticizes Fighter trailer for spreading hate

Fighter, the upcoming aerial action film directed by Siddharth Anand, renowned for his work in Pathaan and War, recently unveiled the trailer of the movie. The film, featuring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor, promises a thrilling blend of heart-pounding action and a patriotic narrative. The film showcases the aftermath of the tragic 2019 Pulwama attack. While many praised the grandeur of the movie and the nationalism attached to it, many have criticized it for its jingoism. Amidst the mixed reactions from the audiences, Pakistani celebrities have also come out to criticize the trailer. Amongst them was Hania Aamir, who is known to be a big fan of Bollywood movies, and seemingly called out the movie for spreading hate. Following her message on Instagram, Siddharth Anand responded to it.

On January 16, Pakistani actress Hania Aamir took to her Instagram story to call out the film for 'feeding the riff between the two countries' through movies. She wrote, “So sad and unfortunate to know that there are artists out there in this day and age who are aware of the power that the cinema holds and still go ahead and feed the riff between the two countries. I feel sorry for the artists who try to bridge the gap by trusting their art as a medium.”

Siddharth Anand responded with an ‘Oh!’ when someone wrote, “Was 'art' breathing here @realhaniahehe??” The reaction was to certain comments which claimed that Parwaaz Hai Junoon was anti-India movie. However, others claimed that Hania’s 2018 movie never mentions India in the movie. Many criticized a particular moment where Hrithik’s Patty fights the terrorist as he says, “POK ka matlab hai Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Tumne occupy kiya hai. Maalik hum hain. Tujh jaise terrorist ke wajah se hum badtameezi pe utar aaye, toh tumhara har mohallah IOP ban jayega,” as he adds, “India Occupied Pakistan” and he brutally punches the terrorist.

In another post, he left a ‘curious’ emoji as a reply to a netizen who claimed on X, formerly Twitter, that Hania’s Parwaaz Hai Junoon was anti-India. The netizen wrote, “Didn't she literally work in a movie which was anti india lol if indians celebs have no issue with the anti-india stuff pak celebs do in movies and in reality why do pak celebs care so much.”

Well, Hania Aamir isn’t the only one who slammed the Fighter trailer. Adnan Siddiqui, who had worked with Sridevi in 2017 Bollywood movie Mom, said, “Once celebrated for love, Bollywood now crafts hate-filled narratives, portraying us as villains. Despite our love for your films, it's disheartening. Art transcends boundaries; let's use it to promote love and peace. Two nations, victims of politics, deserve better.”

Main Atal Hoon Movie Review: MAIN ATAL HOON rests on Pankaj Tripathi's outstanding performance.

MAIN ATAL HOON is the story of India's respected leader. Atal Bihari Vajpayee (Pankaj Tripathi) lives in Agra with his family. In 1938, as a school kid, he is not able to recite a poem in front of his class after he forgets the lines. This is when his father (Piyush Mishra) suggests that he should try to understand the moot point of his speech instead of rote learning. This lesson plays a huge step in Atal's rise as a great orator. He soon joins the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and becomes a close associate of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (Pramod Pathak) and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay (Daya Shankar Pandey). He joins a political party, Akhil Bhartiya Jana Sangh, and even becomes a Member of Parliament in 1957. Soon, things deteriorate in the country. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay die under mysterious circumstances. Atal Bihari Vajpayee decides to take things into his hands for the sake of his country.

MAIN ATAL HOON is inspired by Sarang Darshane’s Book 'Atalji: Kavihridayachye Rashtranetyachi Charitkahani'. Rishi Virmani and Ravi Jadhav's story (co-written by Amol Bhor and Mayuresh Bhor) is captivating and could have made for a great biopic. Rishi Virmani and Ravi Jadhav's screenplay, however, fails to do justice. The writers do not delve into the episodes and briefly touch upon them before going ahead with the story. As a result, one doesn’t feel connected with the film. Rishi Virmani and Ravi Jadhav's dialogues are sharp but not as impactful as intended.

Ravi Jadhav's direction is not up to the mark. To give credit where it's due, he has got the technical aspects right. The film has a big-screen appeal and looks grand in every way. A few scenes stand out like Atal’s love affair with Rajkumari (Ekta Kaul), Atal’s first speech in Lok Sabha and his subsequent meeting with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru (Haresh Khatri), Atal forming a bond with a schoolgirl, the Pokhran test etc.

On the flipside, the makers try to show too many life episodes of the former Prime Minister. While doing so, they keep jumping from one incident to another. As a result, most of the sequences don’t impress as they are not properly explained or are depicted too quickly to get registered. In some places, the narrative is also disjointed. The makers also never explain what happened to Atal’s family, why he was all alone or how Indira Gandhi got back to power in 1980.

Speaking of performances, Pankaj Tripathi hits the ball out of the park. This is one of his best performances and the way he has got into the skin of his character is seen to be believed. It’s thanks to him that the film is watchable. Piyush Mishra is likeable in a cameo. Ekta Kaul leaves a mark. Pramod Pathak and Daya Shankar Pandey are decent. Raja Rameshkumar Sevak (Lal Krishna Advani) does quite well, though he’s a bit over the top in a few scenes. Payal Nair (Indira Gandhi) is okay. Prasanna Ketkar (M S Gowalkar), Ajay Purkar (Hedgewar) and Haresh Khatri leave a mark. Gauri Sukhtanker (Sushma Swaraj) tries too hard.

Songs are forgettable. 'Ankahaa' is a bit memorable for its picturization. The title song, 'Desh Pehle', 'Ram Dhun' and 'Hindu Tan-Man' won’t have a shelf life. Monty Sharma's background score enhances the cinematic appeal.

Lawrence DCunha's cinematography is quite good. Sandeep Ravade's production design is authentic. Sachin Lovalekar's costumes are well-researched. Bunty Nagi's editing is incoherent.

On the whole, MAIN ATAL HOON rests on Pankaj Tripathi’s outstanding performance. But it suffers big time due to its flawed and disjointed narrative. At the box office, due to very limited hype, it’ll face a tough time.

Nutan's granddaughter Pranutan to make her Hollywood debut; to star in Coco & Nut opposite American actor Rahsaan Noor

Actor Pranutan Bahl--granddaughter of legendary Indian actor Nutan is set to star in her maiden Hollywood feature Coco & Nut, opposite American actor-filmmaker Rahsaan Noor. Billed as a spirit-lifting romance, the charming love story is directed by Rahsaan Noor. This marks his first film since the critically acclaimed 2018 film Bengali Beauty, the highest-grossing Bengali language movie of all time which captured hearts and was also the first to release in the USA, UK, and China.

"Feeling worthless, an ambitious young woman (Pranutan) fighting to save her marriage gets a pick me up from her know-it-all college sweetheart (Rahsaan)," the official logline of Coco & Nut reads.

Production for the film will be in English and Hindi and will take place entirely in Chicago from June to July this year, with a diverse cast and crew drawn from both the United States and India. After films like Salman Khan backed Notebook (2019) and comedy-drama Helmet (2022), the upcoming film marks Pranutan Bahl’s International debut and promises to be a significant milestone in her career.

Pranutan hails from a distinguished lineage of actors, with her father being the renowned Mohnish Bahl and her grandmother being the legendary Nutan. Actor Kajol is her aunt.  "I've always wanted to do a romantic drama," Pranutan expressed. "Coco & Nut is a beautiful story in which my character, Nut, journeys through a transformative phase in her life. I’m so grateful that I make my international debut with a movie like that."

The screenplay for the film was inspired by a text message Rahsaan Noor received from his college sweetheart five years after she broke his heart and deals with the intricate relationship dynamics faced by Millennials and Gen Z; exploring the trend of delayed marriage and its impact on modern love.

"I'm really grateful to be getting another opportunity to make a film," Rahsaan Noor said. "That too on a subject that is not only personal to me but also a subject that I've found so many people around the world relate to -- when looking for your life partner, how do you really know if you've found the one?”

“I grew up like so many other second-generation South Asian Americans -- with a love for our movies from the motherland. That's why we're making Coco & Nut in English and Hindi. It's a privilege to be working with Pranutan on this film. From the moment I saw her in Notebook, I was taken by her talent and knew that I had to work with her one day," the actor-filmmaker added.

Written by Rahsaan Noor and Raghav Murali, with additional screenplay credited to Priyamvada Singh, the film is produced by Hamilton Moving Pictures' Chad Shields, alongside Ranjith Rajasekharan and Raghav Murali.

"Coco & Nut is a deeply moving film that captures the universal themes of love, resilience, and cultural identity," stated Shields. "It's a timely exploration of both the immigrant experience and younger generations' evolving relationship dynamics. The picture will prove to be a poignant reflection of our modern, interconnected world."

Co-financing the project are Noor’s Ziryab Films, Henry Leong’s Macuverse, and Executive Producers Mashruk Zahid and Lasaly Changkachith. The film is slated to release in 2025. Manoj Bajpayee seems unhappy with the marketing of Joram; says, “I feel it should have got a much larger release”

Manoj Bajpayee is not happy with the way his film Joram was marketed. “It was the producer’s Zee Studios’ decision to give Joram a limited release. I had no say in the matter. Personally, I feel Joram should have got a much larger release. I think it had the potential to be a success. Look at 12th Fail and how Vinod Chopra and Zee Studios pushed it. Its success is an eye-opener. In the midst of all the big-budget action films that did well 12th Fail stood tall. I feel Joram had the potential to be another breakout film of 2023.”

Having said that, Manoj is happy with the response to his films last year. “It’s not easy to stand up in front of the big films of 2023. It is clear the audience enjoyed the films that did well (Jawaan, Pathaan, Gadar 2, Animal) and who are we to argue with the audiences’ tastes? All we can do is to offer another kind of entertainment, hoping the audience would like something else besides the big blockbusters. But for that we have to first make our films available and visible in cinemas. Agar theatre mein hogi hi nahin toh hamari film kaise dekhne ayenge log (if our films are not in the theatres how will people come to watch them?).”

Speaking about the hue and cry over the violent misogynistic content of some of the recent blockbusters Manoj surmises, “Look, my take on this is simple. If cinema had the power to change society and re-arrange mind-sets then there would have been Ram Rajya in the country by now. Filmmakers like Raj Kapoor, V Shantaram, Bimal Roy and Mehboob Khan made great reformist films. Did they change the societal structure and prejudices even a bit? Did Bimal Roy’s Sujata reduce caste discrimination? Did Shantaram’s Do Aaankhen Barah Haath bring reforms in prisons? I think cinema is predominantly for entertainment. Films, no matter how negative in their worldview, cannot change the way people think.”

Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D'Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy starrer titled Do Aur Do Pyaar; set to release on March 29, 2024

It's final! Bollywood actress Vidya Balan's next is set for theatrical release. Titled Do Aur Do Pyaar, the film also stars Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D'Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy. It is directed by debutant Shirsha Guha Thakurta. Along with the first-look poster, the makers have also announced the release date of the film. The film arrives in cinemas on March 29, 2024.

The film, a progressive, uninhibited take on modern relationships, marks Applause’s foray into the big screen experience and this second collaboration with Ellipsis Entertainment (after the Tahira Kashyap Khurrana-directed Sharmajee Ki Beti) promises to be an ultimate date movie.

The project was announced in 2021. At the time, director Shirsha Guha Thakurta tells us, "When I first heard this story, I was instantly attracted to its universe- honest, funny and so today. Yes, I'm nervous, but this journey so far has been truly special."
