Doctor’s Day: Salman Khan thanks the frontliners for their dedication and sacrifices

The doctors have been working relentlessly to treat COVID-19 patients while managing patients suffering from other fatal diseases simultaneously. Some of them are required to stay back in the hospital for days at a stretch and are required to stay without food and water for 6-8 hours while they wear the PPE kits. Salman Khan is known for being one of the most generous celebrities in the industry and has made multiple efforts to help as many people as he can.

He has been actively helping people and managing things around with his team while he’s in Panvel. The actor is known for his charity and social work. On National Doctor’s Day, Salman Khan took to his Twitter to thank them for their efforts during the pandemic and otherwise. Salman Khan tweeted, “Aaj #DoctorsDay hai, meri taraf se saare doctors ko dil se shukriya. Aapke dedication, or aapke sacrifices k liye! Thank you for being the strongest pillars of our country in this pandemic!”

Aamir Khan’s mother tests negative for Coronavirus

The Coronavirus outbreak has led us into the fourth month of complete lockdown and yet, the numbers are spiking with each passing day. Staff members of some Bollywood celebrities have also tested positive including Boney Kapoor. Only yesterday, Aamir Khan announced that his staff had tested positive for the virus, too.

The actor announced that all of them have quarantined themselves and the staff member is taken to a facility by the BMC. Aamir expressed his gratitude towards the BMC for their prompt action and cooperation. While the rest of his family tested negative for COVID-19, Aamir Khan awaited the test results of his mother. Now, the results of his mother’s test have come in and the actor heaved a huge sigh of relief as it was negative. In a statement, Aamir Khan wrote, “Hello everyone, I am most relieved to inform everyone that Ammi is Covid 19 negative. Thank you everyone for your prayers and good wishes ???? Love. Aamir”.

The actor, on the work front, will next be seen in Laal Singh Chaddha which is the official remake of Tom Hanks starrer Forrest Gump.

Shekhar Suman says Sushant Singh Rajput changed his SIM card 50 times a month; demands CBI enquiry

Actor Shekhar Suman recently visited late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's family in Patna. The actor even spoke to the press , a day after visiting the family. Addressing the press, Shekhar Suman said that there is more than what meets the eye in the suicide of the Bollywood star.

Suman, who recently launched a campaign ‘Justice For Sushant Forum’, was addressing a press conference at the residence of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. “I strongly believe that Sushant’s death is not an open and shut case of suicide,” he said. He also said that he has been following the investigation closely and pointed out at  “missing links” like absence of a suicide note and facts like misplacement of a duplicate key to the house, and change of SIM card by the actor “50 times in a month”.

Talking about the nepotism allegations coming up, Suman said, “Besides Shah Rukh Khan and I, Sushant was the only one to have started off as a TV actor and achieved success on the big screen thereafter. A self-respecting man who did not believe in massaging egos of big shots, he must have become an eyesore for many.” He, however, refused to name anyone who might have caused trouble and said, "it would be wrong to do so unless I was armed with evidence. And this is precisely the reason I am pressing the demand for a CBI inquiry”.

Additi Gupta tests positive for COVID-19, confines herself in a room

With over 5.6 lakh people across the country suffering from Coronavirus, the numbers are on an all-time rise leading us in the fourth month of lockdown. A lot of people from the industry have also been tested positive for Coronavirus and while most of them have recovered, we lost some to the pandemic. The latest celebrity to test positive for COVID-19 is Additi Gupta, who played the female protagonist in Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil and was last seen in Ishqbaaz.

Additi Gupta says that she was asymptomatic when she tested positive for Coronavirus and has confined herself in a room for over a week now. She got herself tested as soon as she lost her sense of smell and had no other symptoms other than that. She immediately quarantined herself and has started proper medications for the same. Additi is thankful for her husband, family, and friends for supporting her throughout and will be quarantined for another 10 days. She says that she is getting a sense of smell back and can’t wait for things to go back to normal.

Post Covid-19, Bollywood producers' request A-list stars to lower their fees

The A Listers of Bollywood are not getting what they want. Their staggering fee is now a thing of the past. All major producers have made it verbally clear that no actor will command the fee that he did before Coronavirus.

Says a major producer-director who doesn’t want to be quoted, “It’s a different world now. After the lockdown everyone in every walk of life has taken a financial fall. The stars never need to do that. They have made enough money to last them for several lifetimes. But the days of 50-60 crore fees are over. Either the A-listers get real or they get out.”

While several Bollywood superstars used to take home exorbitant fees upfront, others like Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan insisted on becoming a co-producer on all the projects that they starred in and sharing in the profits that their films made.

Says a major producer, “That model of payment will also change now. Producers just can’t afford to pay the male stars the fees they got before the pandemic. We are looking at a huge recession and an equivalent pay-cut for the A-listers.”

This producer adds that paring down the superstars’ fee is not a suggestion. It is the only option for the film industry to survive.

Dwayne Johnson tops Instagram rich list 2020 with Rs. 7.6 crores per post, beats Kylie Jenner and Cristiano Ronaldo

Hollywood's action star Dwayne Johnson is already one of the highest-paid actors in the industry. The actor not only gives blockbusters one after another, but he is also a bankable star. Now, he has topped Instagram rich list 2020 with Rs. 7.6 crores per post. The actor takes the top spot in Hopper HQ’s 4th annual Instagram Rich List with USD 1,015,000.

While his Instagram value increased by 15% since last year, he beat Kylie Jenner and soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo. Beauty Moghul Jenner takes the second spot with earnings USD 986,000 (Rs. 7.4 crores) and Ronaldo takes the third place with USD 889,000 (Rs. 6.7 crores) per post.

Shekhar Kapur to be questioned on Sushant Singh Rajput’s death

After questioning several friends of the deceased star it is now filmmaker Shekhar Kapur’s turn. Shekhar spent a good two years with Sushant prepping for the purported epic love story Paani with Sushant and the ‘Black’ child actress Ayesha Kapur now all grown up, in the lead.

After two years of rehearsals and workshops the film was called off. Apparently the cops are spreading their net far and wide for questioning ensuring that every aspect of the tragic death is amply investigated.

Paani was Shekhar and Sushant’s dream project. Produced by Yash Raj Films, it was set in a futuristic Mumbai where water is the most precious resource. Paani was going to be Shekhar’s own take on Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet with Sushant playing a street-smart ruffian from ‘Level B’ who befriends the rich heiress (Ayesha Kapur) from ‘Level A’.

When the project was aborted it not only killed Shekhar and Sushant’s dream, but also effectually finished off Ayesha Kapur’s career.
