Channing Tatum and director Steven Soderbergh reunite for the third installment of male stripper saga Magic Mike's Last Dance

American actor and producer Channing Tatum and director Steven Soderbergh will be reuniting for the third installment in the Warner Bros. male stripper saga, Magic Mike’s Last Dance.

Tatum confirmed the news on Twitter, sharing a picture of his script with the caption,” Well world, looks like Mike Lane’s tapping back in.” He elaborated on his excitement in a statement to Variety, writing, “There are no words for how excited I am to blow the doors off of the world of ‘Magic Mike’ with Steven, Greg, Reid and the amazing people at HBO Max. The stripperverse will never be the same.”

Magic Mike is loosely based on Tatum’s experiences as an 18-year-old stripper in Tampa, Fla. The original 2012 movie proved to be more than a shameless cash-grab for audiences to watch a shirtless Tatum, accompanied by muscular co-stars Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello and Matthew McConaughey. It also became a surprise critical and commercial success, earning $167 million at the box office and scoring sterling reviews for Tatum and Soderbergh.

A sequel, Magic Mike XXL, was released in 2015. The movie was well received and generated $120 million globally.The franchise proved to be lucrative beyond the big screen. Tatum later conceived and co-directed Magic Mike Live in Vegas, which expanded internationally with sold-out shows in London, Berlin and Australia. It was Magic Mike Live in Vegas that eventually enticed Soderbergh back into what Tatum has dubbed “the stripperverse.”

The live shows inspired the upcoming HBO Max reality competition series Finding Magic Mike, premiering on December 16. The show follows 10 men who have “lost their magic” as they bare their souls and learn to perform dance routines. The winner will be awarded a cash prize and a chance to perform on the Magic Mike Live stage in Vegas.

Meanwhile, as reported by Deadline, Magic Mike’s Last Dance will not be playing in theaters and instead will premiere directly on HBO Max, the streaming service owned by WarnerMedia. Reid Carolin, who wrote the first two movies, is returning to pen the newest entry about Tatum’s character Mike Lane. Though plot details for the next chapter have not been revealed, it’s expected to wrap a bow on the trilogy.

Magic Mike XXL director Gregory Jacobs is producing Magic Mike’s Last Dance with Carolin, Nick Wechsler and Peter Kiernan.

Tom Holland to return as Spider-Man in three films, confirms producer Amy Pascal

Tom Holland returns with the third installment in the "Homecoming" trilogy, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which will wrap up the project that began with 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming, followed by 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home. While Marvel is yet to announce the next set of Spidey films, producer Amy Pascal has confirmed it won't be the last time Tom Holland will don the Spider-Man costume.

Speaking to international tabloid Fandango, Pascal said that Sony Pictures will continue to work Marvel on Spider-Man films and Tom Holland will indeed return. "This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie," Pascal revealed. "We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We're thinking of this as three films, and now we're going to go on to the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies."

The Tom Holland and Zendaya starrer will also have appearances from Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, and Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are expected to make appearances in this multiverse story.

Gucci family issues duming statement over the portrayal of Aldo Gucci in Ridley Scott's House of Gucci

The heirs of Aldo Gucci have issued a statement saying they are “a bit disconcerted” about what they claim is their inaccurate portrayal in Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci film.

According to Variety, the statement said, “The production of the film did not bother to consult the heirs before describing Aldo Gucci, president of the company for 30 years [played by Al Pacino in the film], and the members of the Gucci family as thugs, ignorant and insensitive to the world around them.”

It added that the picture attributes “a tone and an attitude to the protagonists of the well-known events that never belonged to them. This is extremely painful from a human point of view and an insult to the legacy on which the brand is built today.”

The statement was first published by Italian news agency ANSA, goes on to blast how Milanese socialite Patrizia Reggiani (played by Lady Gaga in the film), who was convicted in 1998 of facilitating the murder of Maurizio Gucci (played by Adam Driver), “is portrayed not just in the film, but also in statements from cast members, as a victim trying to survive in a male and male chauvinist corporate culture. This couldn’t be further from the truth,” the statement read as during the 70-year time span when the Gucci company was a family business, it was “an inclusive company,” it claimed.

The statement noted that during the 1980s when the film is set, there were several women who held top positions such as the president of Gucci America, the head of Global PR and communications etc.,- whether they were family members or not.

The statement concluded, “Gucci is a family that lives honoring the work of its ancestors, whose memory does not deserve to be disturbed to stage a spectacle that is untrue and which does not do justice to its protagonists,” adding that “the members of the Gucci family reserve the right to take action to protect the name, image and dignity of themselves and their loved ones.”

The full statement, translated from the Italian, is below:

“The Gucci family takes note of the release of the film “House of Gucci” and is a bit disconcerted because, although the work claims to want to tell the “true story” of the family, the fears raised by the trailers and interviews released so far, are confirmed: the film carries a narrative that is far from accurate.

The production of the film did not bother to consult the heirs before describing Aldo Gucci – president of the company for 30 years – and the members of the Gucci family as thugs, ignorant and insensitive to the world around them, attributing to the protagonists, events, a tone and an attitude that never belonged to them. This is extremely painful from a human point of view and an insult to the legacy on which the brand is built today.

Even more objectionable is the reconstruction that becomes mystifying almost to the point of paradox when gets to the point of suggesting an indulgent tone towards a woman who, definitively convicted of having been the instigator of the murder of Maurizio Gucci, is painted not only in the film, but also in the statements made by cast members, as a victim who was trying to survive in a masculine and macho corporate culture.

This couldn’t be further from the truth. Moreover, over the course of it 70-year history during which it was a family business, Gucci was an inclusive company. Indeed, precisely in the 1980s – the historical context in which the film is set – women were in several top positions: whether they were members of the family or extraneous to it, these included the president of Gucci America, the Head of Global PR & Communication, and a member of the board of directors of Gucci America.

Gucci is a family that lives honoring the work of its ancestors, whose memory does not deserve to be disturbed to stage a film that is not true and that does not do justice to its protagonists. The members of the Gucci family reserves every right to protect the name, image and the dignity of their loved ones.”

Despite the tone of the statement, no legal action is being taken at this time by the Gucci family against Scott’s Scott Free shingle and Universal, according to reports.

House of Gucci was released in India on 26 November 2021.

Salman Khan to greet fans at Antim - The Final Truth screening in Chandigarh today

Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma star in Mahesh Manjrekar's directorial Antim - The Final Truth, that released on the 26th of November in cinemas. Post the release, Khan continues to do visits to cities. On Monday, he was in Ahmedabad and visited the ever so famous Sabarmati Ashram and spent a pleasant day with fans. Today, the actor will reach Chandigarh.

The actor will reach Chandigarh to attend a fan screening at Elante Mall at 4pm on November 30. The actor has been making visits and seems to be eager to greet fans from all across.

Arunachal Pradesh Government signs Sanjay Dutt as brand ambassador, Rahul Mittra as brand advisor’

The BJP-led Arunanchal Pradesh Government has signed Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt as Brand Ambassador and award-winning filmmaker and branding expert Rahul Mittra as Brand Advisor on the occasion of the golden jubilee celebrations, marking the 50th year of the naming of the state.

The announcement was made by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Assembly Speaker Pasang Sona Dorjee at a packed function in the presence of both Sanjay Dutt and Rahul Mittra who arrived from Mumbai by chartered flight to Dibrugarh and then by helicopter to the picturesque valley of Mechuka in the afternoon today. A big media campaign conceptualised and executed by Rahul Mittra Films and shot by top ad-filmmaker and drummer Pentagram Shiraz Bhattacharya was kick-started on this occasion, featuring Sanjay Dutt as a youth icon, nature lover, de-addiction proponent and an ever-evolving individual catering to the niche target audience for Arunanchal tourism.

In addition to the promotional films, Dutt will also engage with the local youth of the state on a series of initiatives on substance abuse and other key issues that cause concern in the state. Filming on a large scale is taking place at Ziro village, Pakke valley, Dambuk, Namsai, Parshuram Kund, Pasighat, Mechuka and Tawang. The month long celebrations will commence at Ziro on January 20, 2022 as it was in Ziro that Arunanchal Pradesh got its name and Union Territory status in 1972. The closing ceremony will be held in Itanagar on the occasion of the Statehood Day on February 20,2022.

Ranveer Singh starrer ‘83 to have its World Premiere on December 15 at Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea International Film Festival

The much anticipated film '83 directed by Kabir Khan will be released in theatres on December 24, 2021. Ahead of its theatrical release, the film will have its World Premiere on December 1 at Saudi Arabia's Red Sea International Film Festival. The film starring Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev and Deepika Padukone as Romi Dev will be the closing film of the festival. Kabir Khan, Kapil Dev, and Deepika Padukone will be attending the World Premiere of the film.

Ranveer Singh will be seen stepping into the shoes of Kapil Dev in the film that narrates the historic win of the Indian cricket team at the 1983 World Cup. Also starring are Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Ammy Virk, Addinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa, R Badree, and Pankaj Tripathi. Deepika Padukone will be seen in a cameo avatar playing Romi, Kapil Dev's Wife.

The teaser of the film was released a couple of days ago and has only raised the excitement around the film. The trailer of the film is expected to be released on November 30.

Salman Khan delays shoot of Tiger 3 to promote Antim across various cities

Actor Salman Khan is currently basking in the glory with the success of his film Antim: The Final Truth. The film also stars his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma and Mahima Makhwana in the lead roles. Currently, the actor is doing the promotions of the film in full swing across various locations.

 

While sometimes back Salman Khan along with Katrina Kaif wrapped up some sequences of the much-anticipated espionage drama Tiger 3. The team shot across various locations including Turkey, Russia, and Austria for almost two months . After wrapping up the abroad sequences, the team of the film including Salman Khan moved back to Mumbai.

Recently, during a press meet organised after the success of Antim: The Final Truth Salman Khan revealed that he'll be visiting various cities in the nation for promotions. Well, it’s rare in today's date and especially for Salman Khan to indulge in post-release promotions. The actor during the press conference told that he is taking additional efforts to get the audience back to the cinema halls in big numbers which was really affected due to the pandemic.

Salman Khan who was about to shoot for Tiger 3 in Yash Raj Studios Mumbai has now specially taken a break  to promote the film throughout this week. Salman along with his director, Mahesh Manjrekar will be visiting various cities across the nation including Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Indore, Bengaluru and Hyderabad in the upcoming days.

During his visit, Salman will be going to various cinema halls and interacting with the fans. While Aayush on the other hand will be promoting the film on the weekdays in Mumbai, Pune, and Rajasthan and will finally join Salman in Indore.
