Suniel Shetty claims he is not insecure about Akshay Kumar’s success; admits, “I probably wasn’t focussed when I was working, didn’t pay heed to the scripts”

Suniel Shetty’s pair with Akshay Kumar was one of the highlights of the 1990s and later in films like Waqt Humara Hai, Mohra, Hera Pheri, Dhadkan, etc. In a chat with Bollywood Life, when the actor was asked if he feels insecure, looking at the success Akshay achieved in later years, he said, “I am not insecure. Akshay inspires me. Ajay (Devgn) inspires me. Not necessarily for movies but the idea being (to) stay focussed and you could achieve anything. I probably wasn’t focussed when I was working. Probably I didn’t pay heed to the scripts I was hearing or I believed I was larger-than-life. But that’s a mistake.”

Suniel added that he still has a lot for which he feels thankful. “Why would I feel the pressure when a 100 million people out there haven’t made it and they want to make it? So, glass half full, half empty. For me, half is good enough. I am very happy in my space; in my mental space.”

Elaborating on this point, he added, “I have a solid family and friends. I don’t know what I have achieved as far as cinema goes. But I know one thing for a fact that there is a lot of goodwill and love and affection that I have and I live of that.”

Suniel recently made his web debut in the MX Player show Dharavi Bank, which also stars Vivek Oberoi.

“Shah Rukh Khan-starrer is shot in some of the most remote locations of the world,” reveals director Siddharth Anand

Yash Raj Films has left no stone unturned for their hugely awaited action extravaganza Pathaan. News is just out that in order to make the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer a spectacle of sorts, the makers have shot not in three of four but eight countries, which include, Spain, UAE, Turkey, Russia and Siberia, Italy, France, India and Afghanistan.

While reasoning out the decision, director Siddharth Anand said in a statement, “Locations always play a huge role in my films and they became even more important for Pathaan as we intended to deliver an action spectacle for audiences that they have never seen before. To achieve that scale and variation in visuals we went to 8 countries to shoot the film and its lavish action sequences!”

Siddharth also shared how they planned the whole film accurately. “We were clear that every scene of Pathaan needs to be breath-taking and we meticulously went about planning to achieve this,” said the filmmaker. “I remember the pre-production of Pathaan took close to two years because we wanted to be absolutely sure that we are going to try and raise the bar of action spectacles in India.”

He also revealed that they explored some novel locations to shoot the film. “We have shot in some of the most remote and most exquisite locations in the world that have helped us create a visual experience that is immersive and outlandish,” said Siddharth. “I simply hope that audiences love our effort to create a cinematic milestone when Pathaan releases in theatres on Jan 25.”

Produced by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films, Pathaan also stars John Abraham and Deepika Padukone in pivotal roles.

Janhvi Kapoor opens up on being compared with Sridevi; says, “I am being compared with the best”

For those who think being compared with her legendary mom Sridevi is a problem for Janhvi Kapoor, here is her rather confident verdict on the topic. Says Janhvi, “Why would I want the comparisons to stop? Why would I be offended by being compared with my mom? I am being compared with the best. So they are holding me to the best possible standards. It’s like reaching to the stars. At least I can aim for the sky. I think I am flattered.”

Janhvi doesn’t think the comparisons are uncalled-for. “I can’t blame them for their expectations. I am trying hard to live up to the expectations. I may not have the talent or beauty of my mother. But it’s the hard work that is my USP. I know I will get there.”

Janhvi confesses she is completely engrossed in her career. “Cinema is my life. Acting is the only thing that keeps me going. I will keep on reaching for the stars. I am not apologetic anymore for where I come from.”

Shah Rukh Khan says nobody would consider him for action movies before Pathaan: ‘Want to do Mission Impossible-ish kind of films’

In exactly 55 days, fans will be all set to welcome Shah Rukh Khan back to the silver screens again. Though he never left, his hiatus has been for five years now. The actor now is gearing up for the upcoming action entertainer Pathaan which is a part of Yash Raj Films’ 50^th anniversary. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the actor recently said that no one was approaching him for action films before Pathaan came along.

Shah Rukh Khan on Thursday attended the Red Sea Festival in Saudi Arabia for the special screening of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. The actor spoke to Deadline about Pathaan and why he wants to do action movies. “I’ve never done an action film, I’ve done really sweet love stories, I’ve done some social dramas, I’ve done some bad guys, but nobody was taking me for action," he explained. "I’m 57 years old, and I thought for the next years I have to do action films, I want to do Mission Impossible-ish kind of films. I want to do over-the-top kind of action films."

Shah Rukh Khan went on to explain that India is evolving massively in terms of technology. "I think we've gone ahead leaps and bounds so I want to use all that knowledge," Khan added.

Back in June 2022, Shah Rukh Khan had revealed why he wanted to do Pathaan. “When we started shooting Pathaan, it was a lot of fun. It is an action film with wonderful co-actors Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and Ashutosh Rana among others,” he explained, “It is the kind of film I wanted to do for 30 years. I always thought of myself as somebody who can do some cool action stuff. So, I think my impression about Pathaan is that what I really wanted to do when I first came to Mumbai, hopefully I have achieved that in Pathaan as an actor.”

He admitted that he wanted to be an action hero in his 20s but is enjoying the process in his 50s too. “I enjoyed it. It is fun having to do action. It is a little late (referring to his age). At the age of 56, I am being macho and solid, trying to make it work. Siddharth and the whole action team has put in a lot of hard work. Hopefully, it will work,” he smiled.

“I remember Siddharth narrating a lot of films to me. Unfortunately, we could not find the right time to collaborate for years. He had this title called Pathaan with him. And he would tell me that, ‘Sir, maine film ready kar li hai.’ One fine day, when we could not work on the two scripts he narrated, he sent me a sweet message, which read, ‘I have this title. I have not been able to get a film with you. Now, please take the title and make a film whenever you want,'” Shah Rukh Khan said revealing that Siddharth Anand came back to him with a new script. “The film has had a long journey. And soon, you all will be able to see it,” he said.

Pathaan is set to release on January 25, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu!

Ms. Marvel actor Mohan Kapur accused of sexually harassing a minor - “His partner knew the type of man he was”

Mohan Kapur, a well-known TV and film actor who recently gained prominence for playing Kamala Khan's father in Disney+ Hotstar series Ms Marvel, has been accused of sexually harassing a minor and asking for/sending objectionable pictures.

The victim took to Twitter to narrate her traumatic ordeal and wrote, “When I was 14 years old, I was a fan of this serial actress & we became friends. Her partner at that time @mohankapur also became friends with me. I respected the both of them almost like 2nd parents, & told them about my stressful life. But @mohankapur took advantage of me.”

Detailing her terrifying ordeals, she further shared, “We constantly talked until I notice he started flirting with me. Then when I was 15 years old @mohankapur sent his d**k pics to me. He was apologizing nonstop & was depressed…. I forgave him. But after that he continued to harass me…. Said things like how he was in love with me, wanted to marry me, wanting me to grow up to be with him, and can’t wait for me to get older so I can sleep with him. Now I know that @mohankapur was grooming me.” The victim further noted how his then-partner knew of his actions.

“His partner (now ex) knew the type of man he was…. She was aware that he was talking to me,” the victim wrote. “When I met her in person, I told her everything that was happening. A year later I stopped talking to her after she started gaslighting me. I was so depressed about this situation….

She told me how 'I threw my baggage on her'…. I really truly felt that this woman didn’t care at all for what @mohankapur was doing to me… I was so confused & depressed…. I’m not sure if it’s Stockholm syndrome or what but I kept on thinking that all of this was my fault… and kept on wanting to be his friend again. I kept on thinking that he really truly cared about me… but he didn’t.

My depression got worst & I was planning to take my own life…. I kept on calling @mohankapur… he ignore my calls… and at times told me to get over it. Then completely twist the whole story to make me look like the bad person… he kept on saying that he can’t trust me…

The last time I talked to @mohankapur was 2020 and I was crying… I said I really can’t take any of this anymore…. Hoping that he would apologize & understand the trauma he had cause. Instead he told me that he can’t trust me and the only way he can trust me again is if….

I hop on video chat and send nudes to him in order to be friends with him again. #metoo @IndiaMeToo #MeToo” she wrote in her thread. MeToo movement in India saw several struggling, aspiring actresses as well as other women coming out and accusing certain actors and filmmakers of sexual misconduct and misbehavior.

The other names that have been called out during the movement are Subhash Ghai, Alok Nath, Rajkumar Hirani, Rajat Kapoor, Vikas Bahl, most recently Sajid Khan and several others.

Salman Khan reshoots Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan song; amps up grandeur with 800 dancers and five couples before wrapping up the film

Bollywood actor Salman Khan has gone back to the drawing board after he wasn’t satisfied with the song sequence which was filmed towards the end of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Earlier filmed with 100 dancers, the actor amped up the grandeur with 800 dancers. The song will feature Salman Khan with Pooja Hegde and four other couples.

As per a report in Mid-Day, a sprawling carnival-like set has been erected at Madh Island in Mumbai for the shoot with the set design from production designer Rajat Poddarr. As per the report, a member from the film unit revealed, “Salman is looking into every department for this film, and wants it to look good. We are shooting a bright, colourful, and vibrant song with him, his romantic interest, and four other couples. Earlier, this song was shot on a terrace, but Salman thought it appeared small. They wanted the song to look visually grand because it is a celebration of life and happiness. They tweaked the story a bit, so, now the incident [that leads to the song] happens in a mela. South choreographer Jani Master, who choreographed Salman's Seeti maar in Radhe, has designed this one.”

The report stated that Poddarr and his team erected the set over the span of 8 days. The filming for the song resumed on November 27 and it is being reported that the film has been officially wrapped. Another song was also filmed recently and photos went viral of the actor wearing a lungi. It seems like he will be flaunting South dance steps.

Salman Khan will be next seen in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The film, which was set to release in theatres on December 30, will now hit the theatres on Eid 2023. The actor unveiled several looks from the movie and even a teaser video. The film stars Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh Daggubati, Jagapathi Babu, Jassie Gill, Siddharth Nigam, Raghav Juyal, Shehnaaz Gill and Palak Tiwari. The film is directed by Farhad Samji and bankrolled by Salman Khan Films.

He will also be seen in Tiger 3 which will hit the theatres on Diwali 2023. Directed by Maneesh Sharma and bankrolled by Yash Raj Films, the film marks his reunion with Katrina Kaif. The actor has a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan which arrives in theatres on January 25, 2023. He has another cameo in Riteish Deshmukh’s Marathi directorial debut Ved.

Akshay Kumar wants one more blessing from life, here’s what it is

Akshay Kumar might not have had a good 2022 but, looking at his overall career, he is easily one of the most successful and well-known actors to have emerged from Bollywood. But despite achieving this much, he wants one more blessing from life, which is to be fit at any age.

Akshay felt this after reading the book Fit At Any Age, written by Former Air Marshal PV Iyer. The actor shared a picture of himself on Instagram while reading the book and wrote, “If I could have only one blessing in life, it would be ‘fit at any age’. Former Air Marshal PV Iyer’s book is titled just that. What an inspiration at 92 years of age, Sir! Hope to learn so much from your book.”

Akshay is known to be a fitness freak who makes it a point to wake up in the wee hours of the morning to go through his exercise regime. So it doesn’t really come as a surprise that he found this book so inspiring.

Iyer launched the book just two days back on Tuesday November 29.

On the work front, Akshay recently announced his entry into Marathi cinema with Mahesh Manjrekar’s Vedaat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat, where he will be essaying the character of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
