SEVENTEEN’s Dino to sit out of upcoming U.S. concerts after testing positive for Covid-19

South Korean pop group SEVENTEEN’s Dino has tested positive for COVID-19 and therefore will step back from participating in upcoming concerts and group’s other upcoming promotional activities.

According to Korean media portal Soompi, on August 17, the group’s agency PLEDIS Entertainment announced that Dino had tested positive for Covid-19 in Los Angeles. At present, he is said to have gone into self-quarantine with a mild sore throat. SEVENTEEN is currently in the United States for the North American leg of their “BE THE SUN” world tour.

The group is scheduled to appear on the late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! on August 18. However, after Covid-19 diagnosis, Dino will now sit out of all the upcoming concerts as well as the talk show. PLEDIS Entertainment released an official statement sharing the diagnosis of Dino and the status of others members’ participation.

“Hello. This is PLEDIS Entertainment. We would like to provide you with information on SEVENTEEN member Dino being diagnosed with Covid-19, as well as adjustments in his activities.” the statement began. “Dino took a PCR test in Los Angeles on August 16 (PT) and was confirmed with Covid-19. He is currently experiencing a mild sore throat and has been under self-quarantine and administering self-treatment, away from the other members.”

The statement shared that the other SEVENTEEN members also took PCR tests and have all tested negative for Covid-19. In light of Dino contracting coronavirus, the Thursday (August 18) appearance for Jimmy Kimmel Live! as well as their forthcoming concert at Houston’s Toyota Center on Aug. 20 will proceed with the group’s remaining 12 members.

The statement concluded by writing, “We will continue to provide support for the rapid recovery of Dino, placing our highest priority on the health and safety of our artists. We will also continue to fully cooperate with the requests and guidelines of healthcare authorities.”
